Larry Fitzgerald: I Was Almost A Philadelphia Eagle -
Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald told CSNPhilly.com on Friday that the Eagles offered the Cardinals a 1st and 3rd round pick for him back in 2008.
The report does not say why the deal never took place.
According to the report, Fitzgerald’s contract was a huge strain on the team’s salary cap. He was due to make over $14 million in 2008, and $17 million the following season.
The deal could have drastically changed the 2008 season for both teams, as the Cardinals went on to beat the Eagles in the NFC championship game 32-25. Fitzgerald had 152 yards and 3 touchdowns that night.
Both teams are 2-0 and will meet again this Sunday.
Fitz is in Fantasy Football Limbo this year :-(

So far, the biggest surprise of the 2012 season. No signs he’ll slow down. F-Jax may struggle for touches when he returns.
